I wanted to pass onto you the above book, written by Charan, Drotter and Noel. From my experience in leadership development, as well as my own direct leadership experience, I have long learnt the role, and therefore the leadership development needs, varies for leaders depending on the layer of the organisation from which they are leading. That is not to say there are not some consistent leadership attributes that transcend the organisational layers - there are. There are also attributes that change as a leader takes on roles at the different layers. While I know many of you will question and debate content within the book, it articulates these issues as well as I have encountered. So, I commend this book to anyone responsible for the development and the leadership of leaders in their organisation.
